10 Helpful Tips for Planning Your Homeschool Year

1. Print form guides and shopping lists for each form. Place them all in a binder with tabs.
2. Highlight what you need to purchase vs. what you already own. (See video for details.)
3. Order books and check them off as they arrive with a specific highlighter color. Place them in a special shelf.
4. Read through your grade-level form guides and/or reading schedule.
5. Make a pre-reading plan for the summer and begin pre-reading while working on the next few steps simultaneously. (See my pre-reading post here.)
6. Make a common subjects term-planner (see it here).
7. Formulate your morning timetable. (See my timetable video).
8. Set-up your mother’s logbook. (See my logbook video).
9. Prepare for family subjects like artist/composer study.
10. Read through any additional guides, like Modern Language guide, Folksongs/Hymns guide. Also, prepare by previewing the arithmetic programs, reading instruction programs, you plan to use for each student.
