Our Typical Family Weekend Schedule:

Friday Evening

We typically spend Friday evenings eating sourdough pizza together and playing board games like Bingo or doing puzzles! It’s a great start to a weekend of togetherness.

Saturday

Saturday we get up early and head to the local farmer’s market to pick up our meat and eggs. Then we head out for a family hike. I always pick the location ahead of time so we aren’t scrambling to find something. Unless the weather is dangerous, we are out for a family hike rain or shine! We always pack an iced chest with lunch so we aren’t starving the whole day. After our hike, we sometimes swing by the library to pick up some books. (My girls have become voracious readers!) After we pick up books we head home for dinner. I cook a big family dinner and put on our dinner jazz music.

Sunday

Sundays we spend at church in the morning, then we have a big family brunch. After we eat we do some of our house chores, (mow the lawn, weed the garden, vacuum, meal plan, laundry, etc.) Then we eat an early dinner and have some family singing time where we play instruments, or just sing hymns or folksongs together. Singing has such a unifying quality. I highly recommend trying it out with your family!
