Hello friends! Have you started Christmas baking yet? Today I want to share a quick little treat inspired by a holiday baking treat we made as children. I am a huge chocolate pretzel lover, so anything remotely close to that flavor profile is a win for me. These are chocolate covered pretzel date bites made from some products with wonderful ingredients!
Sadly, when we used to make these as children, we always used Rolo’s chocolate candy (packed with GMO cane sugar, high fructose corn syrup corn syrup, hydrogenated soybean oil and more) + pretzels (enriched white flour, GMO corn oil and GMO corn syrup.) I am very careful about the ingredients we let into our home and bodies. Therefore, my favorite thing to do is take these childhood favorites and put a new spin on them so I can enjoy them with my family. These are just organic Spelt flour pretzels, refined sugar free chocolate gems, and organic medjool dates with a sprinkle of sea salt! So thankful to have wonderful alternatives to these foods for our holiday festivities!

Ingredients:
- 1/2 bag @newmansown spelt pretzels
- 1 cup pitted medjool dates, chopped
- @hukitchen chocolate gems
- Sprinkles of @jacobsensaltco (they tested this salt and it’s free of microplastics 👏🏻)
Directions:
Simply line up the pretzels on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Add a date on top to hold them together. Put 1-2 gems on each date and sprinkle with finishing salt. Let the chocolate melt in the oven on 325 degrees F for around 3-5 minutes. Once melted pop in freezer for 10 minutes then serve! Enjoy! (My little family inhaled these in .02 seconds 😆 ).
