We are using A Year of Tales for our summer “schooling” as my daughter is the BIGGEST Beatrix Potter fan ever! I also love Beatrix Potter and her collection, so when I came across A Year of Tales, I knew we needed to try it out! Now we’ve just started it, so just know this isn’t a comprehensive review. I just filmed myself flipping through the curriculum so you can see what it looks like if you’re interesting in using it with your family! Keep reading to see the A Year of Tales homeschool curriculum flip-through.

A Year of Tales Homeschool Curriculum Flip-Through

In this video, I share each program, and how they coincide with the art study and geography components. I will share a full review later this summer!

First Thoughts:

01. I love how the curriculum is structured.

There’s a weekly overview, which is wonderful! I also love that there’s a yearly overview with the booklist. The lessons are very well-scripted as well! Overall, it’s a wonderfully-organized program!

02. I love how many activities and book recommendations Lisa includes!

So many rich opportunities to study nature! I love the book recommendations and, in true Charlotte Mason fashion, how she ties in handicrafts and living books into the lessons.

03. I’ll be using both programs (preschool and elementary) for my 2 and 5 year old.

They seem to overlap well, so it shouldn’t be an issue! I’m so excited to get started! More updates coming soon!

I hope this quick post about the A Year of Tales homeschool curriculum was helpful to you! Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you so much for reading!

  1. Hi, thanks so much for this review! I’m looking into buying this curriculum for my 5 year old who is starting school. Which one do you think would be best? Also do the recipes come with the preschool curriculum?
