I made a gift guide for kids, but I wanted to throw one together for adults too. This guide is really meant for anyone meaningful in your life. Think a reusable coffee cup for your husband, or a pair of handmade earrings for your mom. When putting this together I tried to consider price, and whether these gifts were ethically made and/or eco-friendly. Keep reading to see my ethical holiday gift guide!
Eco-Friendly, Ethical Holiday Gift Guide
If I’m being honest, the older I get, the less I care about gifts. It’s more the thought behind the gift that matters to me. Also, how much use will I get out of it? I don’t like having things around that won’t be used often. Hopefully this list serves you and your loved ones well this holiday season! If not, hopefully it at least gets some ideas going for you!
01. Marley’s Monsters Products
Do you have a sibling or friend who wants to get more into the low-waste lifestyle? The Marley’s Monsters UNpaper towels are a PERFECT gift that will keep on giving! I have several sets of these in my home and we’ve been able to eliminate paper towels altogether. Did I mention that everything they make comes in the most adorable prints?
02. KeepCup Reusable Coffee Cup
If you have a coffee-lover in your life (aka my husband), then you’ll want to gift them with this high-quality reusable coffee mug made of glass and cork. I love the glass on the KeepCup because I don’t have to worry about chemicals from hot liquid leaching into the plastic. Our KeepCups have lived in our home for two years now, and they’re still going strong! It’s a great gift idea that can be used often. Every time my husband uses his, he remembers the Christmas I bought it for him 😉 (At least that’s what I’m hoping!)
03. Madres Collective Fair Trade Handmade Earrings
Gifting clothes to friends and relatives can be tricky. But gifting handmade, ethically made jewelry isn’t! This company, Madres Collective, hires women to make fair trade products that provide sustainable living wages for them. By making these pieces, the women of Madres Collective can put food on the table, and pay for school supplies for their children. When gifting a friend or family member, it’d be wonderful to spread the message about this ethical company! I especially love these earrings made with fair trade certified coffee beans!
04. Urban Oreganics: Organic + Vegan Beauty Products
Nothing says I care about you more than a bar of soap handmade by a small-business. I love Urban Oreganics because not only are they family owned; but also because they pride themselves in being an eco-friendly company. A major plus is that their products are made from quality, cruelty-free ingredients. This is a great gift idea for a friend who may be looking for a new dry shampoo to try, or maybe a co-worker who wants to get into clean beauty. These products as gifts are foolproof. Did I mention that they’re amazing?
05. Egyptian Cotton KOTN robe
This gorgeous robe from KOTN is made from 100% fair trade Egyptian cotton. Not only is it stunning, but it’s super cozy! I’ve had the pleasure of working with KOTN to announce their loungewear collection, and this is one you won’t want to miss! Even if you have to gift this to yourself – it’s worth it! I know buying clothes for others can be tricky, but it’s easier to guess their robe size! I plan to gift this to my grandmother. I know she’ll love it, and I think someone special in your life would too!
I hope this ethical, eco-friendly holiday gift guide helped you!
