Sustainable Style Sessions is a project that I am extremely passionate about. I have so much fun styling these outfits from my closet for you! This week I’m talking about how to style a bodysuit seven ways for fall with Fauxgerty. My goal in these style sessions is 2 things: 1. to inspire you to shop your closet, and 2. to give you ideas for outfits with pieces you probably already have! I wrote about it more in this Instagram post, but the good ‘ol days of simple outfit inspo are long gone, and I really want to bring them back! So here we go.
How to Style A Bodysuit Seven Ways for Fall
This Fauxgerty Tank Bodysuit is a fabulous piece for year round outfits! In the summer I picture it under an overall dress, or cut-off shorts. But this looks fabulous styled for Fall too! I used it as a key layering piece in all of the below outfits. One of my favorite things about Fauxgerty is a brand that focuses on creating timeless pieces for women inspired by vintage silhouettes. They pride themselves in repurposing materials like deadstock fabrics from fashion houses, using PVC-free leather alternatives, and faux suede upcycled materials commonly found in luxury cars. All while paying their sewers 71% above minimum wage. Their pieces (especially their dresses) are stunning, but I personally love that they create bodysuits too. I looked for an ethical bodysuit for SO long. If you want to check them out and learn more about their brand, click here!
Note: I linked to exact pieces when possible but many of these items I’ve had for awhile and won’t be in stock. I also wanted to take away any “mystery” by giving the exact name and fit/style info where each piece is concerned in case you are in the market for a new item. BUT before shopping these links, make sure to check out your closet to see if you can recreate this with what you already have!

// OUTFIT ONE
For this outfit, I really wanted to play with silhouette! I love the straight-leg jean (I totally cut the bottoms off of these straight leg jeans) style with the tighter bodysuit and a giant chunky cardigan! I feel that the pointed-toe mules give it a feminine edge.

// OUTFIT TWO
This bodysuit looks soooo good with skinny jeans. It is very slimming! For this look I wanted to do a “I’m headed to the pumpkin patch, but it’s still hot out” look. I’m very familiar with that feeling, so it was important to me to speak to that for all of you friends in the South! I love a good flannel top as both a waist ornament and as a functional way to keep warm as the night goes on.

All black plus brown? Yes please! The ivory rancher hat is unexpected but really makes this look, in my opinion! Friends, do not be afraid of black and brown!

// OUTFIT FOUR
I have three favorite looks out of all of these, and this is definitely one of them. This bodysuit is dressed up for more of a “professional” vibe! In love with how the skinny jeans pair well with this longer oversized blazer. The mary jane style shoes put this outfit over the top.

Can we talk about how much I love this look? The cropped straight leg Levi’s with the fitted bodysuit is a perfect pairing!

// OUTFIT SIX
When I saw this bodysuit, I immediately pictured it with black leggings and a longer chambray top as a “jacket” or tied around the waist for a fall transitional look. I went with brown accents for this look and am very pleased with how it turned out!

// OUTFIT SEVEN
As always, I went with a dressier, ‘night-out’ look for the last one. It would be a fabulous date night look, and you could even switch the black mule loafers for heels to get super dressy with it! Lastly, I also would love this outfit with a black moto jacket, but trying to slip some color into my otherwise pretty neutral closet!
