Sustainable Style Sessions is a project that I am extremely passionate about. I have so much fun styling these outfits from my closet for you! This week I’m talking about how to style black dress pants three ways. My goal in these style sessions is 2 things: 1. to inspire you to shop your closet, and 2. to give you ideas for outfits with pieces you probably already have! I wrote about it more in this Instagram post, but the good ‘ol days of simple outfit inspo are long gone, and I really want to bring them back! So here we go.

How to Style Black Dress Pants Three Ways

Dressing for work every day can be rough. You can only style business casual items so many ways. Right? Wrong! As a former teacher I definitely understand the plight of dressing cute while maintaining a business casual wardrobe. I couldn’t wear cute hats, skirts, and even most dresses unless they met a giant list of criteria. My hope today is to share a few ways to wear and spice up the classic black work pant. There is no harm in trying out trends as long as it’s done tastefully and still meets work requirements! For example, the pearl-embellished hair clip! Also, huarache sandals. They’re typically worn as a vacation shoe with floral-printed dresses, but I’m here to show you they can be worn to work too!

Lastly, just know that I donated most of my “business casual” clothing after I made the decision to stop teaching long-term, so I don’t own very many items. However, I do feel that as long as you have black pants and a few simple basics you can dress stylishly for work! Most of the items I own are now from VETTA because I love their line and the quality of their products. Don’t feel like you need these exact pieces. These are just example outfits to get the creativity flowing when you get dressed in the morning!

Note:  I linked to exact pieces when possible but many of these items I’ve had for awhile and won’t be in stock. I also wanted to take away any “mystery” by giving the exact name and fit/style info where each piece is concerned in case you are in the market for a new item. BUT before shopping these links, make sure to check our your closet to see if you can recreate this with what you already have!
