If you’ve followed me for even a small amount of time, you know that I try really hard to use my “influence” for good. I really want to share new and inspiring things with you. I also want to share ways that you can help make the world a better place. As I learn and educate myself, I want to share it all with you!
My goal is fewer, better things.
Additionally, I’m making it a point to shop more sustainable and ethical brands. Ones that don’t contribute to wastefulness, try to recycle materials when possible. And ones that don’t overproduce clothing just to possibly incinerate it when the season ends. Enter my favorite sustainable shops. I hope you enjoy this series!

tonlé – a zero-waste, fair fashion brand
When I first came across tonlé, I was scouring Instagram for unique wardrobe basics (in the name of ethical fashion) which meant avoiding the brands I’m used to shopping. I love that tonlé offers trendy pieces and unique designs for all body types. They also carry the best classics, like this little black dress I’ve been wearing with a sweater and tights for fall and winter!
tonlé cares about the people that work for them. They’re passionate about paying their employees living wages and using recycled materials to make their products. Their company currently has 30 artisans and weavers making their pieces in Cambodia. I love when a brand is transparent about their production practices. Learning where our clothing comes from is vital to making a difference in the problematic fast fashion world. tonlé speaks to these issues and many more in their “why zero-waste fashion?” page on their site! Check it out here.
the tonlé srey oun sweater
To say I am in love with this sweater is an understatement. The srey oun sweater is handwoven from tiny scraps of cotton jersey and leftover yarn from the garment (fast fashion) industry. The little loops all over the detail are not only a stylish detail, but they’re a small (but important) reminder that nothing is waste until you waste it.
As for the sweater fit, I’m wearing the small/medium. I’m 5’7″ and 135 pounds. It also comes in the medium/large size! I love the boxy feel of the sweater. Since it’s cropped it makes it feel dressy and chic. This is the color “natural” but it also comes in three other colors!
