As I approach my thirties, skin care is something I really want to make more of an effort to work at. Every time I chat with someone who ages super well, they’re always spilling their best secrets. Almost all of these women preach and practice a strict skin care regimen. The number one tip I’ve heard to date? Keep your skin moisturized. Keep reading to find out my best tips!
TIPS FOR KEEPING YOUR SKIN MOISTURIZED
As you probably know, our skin is the largest organ. It is exposed to so many different things, so no it’s no wonder that it thrives when hydrated and moisturized. My top tips for keeping moisturized are simple, and great for those who live in dry heat like I do.
Moisturize in the morning, and at night.
For some this is a no-brainer, but honestly, I never used to use a moisturizer in the morning. I found that when I started using a moisturizer in the morning, my make-up went on smoother and stayed on longer. If I ever forget to lotion up before putting my make-up on my skin starts to feel so dry halfway through the day.
Drink plenty of water every day.
I never really got into the “drink eight glasses of water a day” bit because that just seems so unattainable. But But I do carry around a 20-ounce reusable water bottle! It’s been super easy to fill it up in the morning, during lunch, and at dinner. I meet my water requirement, and my skin is happy and glowing because it’s hydrated. If you live in a hot part of the country, water is especially essential to having soft skin since we dry out way faster.
Add a new product to your skincare regimen.
It’s good to switch things up sometimes. This chia serum from Perricone MD by QVC has changed my life. When I use it, my skin feels super hydrated! I’ve been experimenting with ways to use it. It’s very concentrated and super potent, so I add one or two drops to my moisturizer for extra hydration, or sometimes I’ll add it on after I apply my make-up for a dewy look. The best part is that the serum is not oily like you’d expect.
If you’re skeptical about using a serum containing chia seed oil on your face, (it piqued my interest too!) did you know that chia seeds are one of the richest vegetable sources of essential omega-3 fatty acid? This serum not only contains pure chia oil but other fat-soluble vitamins and nutrients for skin vitality including: Vitamin E, Vitamin C ester, Vitamin A,
Vitamin C, and pro-vitamin B5. I eat chia seeds on the regular, but I never thought about using a serum containing cold-pressed chia seed oil on my face. I honestly love the idea of it and I’m super glad I found this product.
Perricone MD is an anti-aging skin care line, so that’s an added bonus too. I’m very impressed with the results I’ve seen and plan to continue to use it as an extra hydrating and moisturizing step. The container seems so giant too, in comparison to the drop or two I use once or twice per day! If you want to grab some of your own, shop it here.
I hope these tips for keeping your skin moisturized and soft were helpful to you! I’m always learning and growing when it comes to my beauty routine, so I love sharing and updating you when I learn about new products that work!
