If you follow me on social media, you already saw this Fourth of July breakfast berry toast project, but I haven’t had the chance to share how we made it! G’s new obsession with flags is what inspired this idea, actually. I knew I had to think of a cute way to tie in a flag theme for the upcoming holiday. But I also want to share this with you all just in time for you to enjoy with your families this week. This easy, little breakfast project is perfect for kids of all ages. It’s also great for family brunches or any sort of holiday festivity that involves an American Flag theme. Keep reading to find out how to make this delicious (and healthy) breakfast treat!
Grace and I eat Driscoll’s berries on everything. Their berries are always fresh and great quality. This specific post isn’t sponsored, but I just wanted to quickly share that Driscoll’s actually hosting a fun contest in which you can share moments with your family and friends eating your Driscoll’s berries this summer. See below for more info, but it’s so cute! There are five winners in total, and all you have to do to enter is post a photo on social media plus 2 hashtags; super easy! See details here:

Fourth of July Breakfast Berry Toast Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 slice of Silver Hills sprouted grain bread
- 2 tbs. Kite Hill Foods almond yogurt
- Driscoll’s fresh organic blackberries or blueberries, sliced in half
- Driscoll’s fresh organic strawberries, sliced in quarters
- a dash of cinnamon
- 1 tsp. almond butter for dipping (or you can drizzle on top)
Method:
- Toast your toast (ha!)
- Spread the yogurt onto the toast after it is cooled.
- Take your sliced berries and start placing them on the toast in the shape of a flag.
- Note: I actually put the yogurt on for Grace and let her do the berry part, but if you have older kids you can involve them/help them feel more responsible by giving them the task of toasting the toast + spreading the yogurt on too!
- Sprinkle on some cinnamon and either drizzle almond butter on top, or leave some on the side of your plate for dipping!
- Enjoy!
Grace and I had a blast making this together. She loves helping me in the kitchen, and it kind of turned into a little American Flag lesson (but most importantly it tasted delicious too!)
I’d love for you to try this out, and if you do, use the hashtag #LivinginColorEats so I can see your beautiful food photography + see your family and friends enjoying this project!
