Guest Post: The Fashionista's Diary | Dress Up Your Tee

Hi, everyone! It’s Lauren Ashley from The Fashionista’s Diary, which is a personal style and beauty blog based out of the 3-0-5, or Miami. I’m so excited to be guest posting for beautiful Elle today! Her and I have been friends for a while and it’s great to be able to share some fashion tips on her gorgeous blog. Today I wanted to talk to you about dressing up, or glam-ifying {that isn’t a word} a casual tee. There are so many days where I just want to throw on a tee and run out the door. First of all, Miami is SO hot. It’s actually ridiculous. Second, I want to be comfortable when I’m in between meetings and events. There’s nothing I love more than a beautiful dress and some platforms, but let’s be serious here… comfort is key! One way I love to dress up a casual tee is by adding a pop of color in any way possible. With this outfit, I added these pink shoes that also come in a bunch of fun colors. I thought that this would be a quick and easy way to make the outfit a little more fashionable, without being completely uncomfortable. These heels are really great and don’t hurt my feet, even after a long day of walking. I then added a longer necklace to the mix, but I’ve always worn casual tees with some statement necklaces, preferably from BaubleBar, and they do the job even better! I would suggest going with a less heavier necklace if you’re going to be wearing this outfit all day. Also, always make sure to wear a nice pair of dark wash jeans when you’re trying to dress up a tee. Wearing ripped denim, shorts or light wash jeans are great, but not if you’re trying to dress up your tee! I went with my favorite, the Paige Denim slimming jean {although, this lighting here doesn’t really look like they did much slimming…haha!}. Sorry for the crazy photos by the way, it was so windy outside! For a second I thought I lived in Chicago. Anyways, thanks so much for reading my post today on Elle’s blog!
