Happy Monday, everyone!  The outfit in this post is one of my favorites. Although simple in palate and structure, I feel as though it reflects my personal style perfectly! There’s some pattern play, and different texture with the sequins, and I’m even styling silver/black rock stud shoes with the gold clutch- although it may look simplistic and basic prep- this outfit just screams ‘Elle’! The signature pink lipstick is what makes it a little more playful. I don’t know about you ladies, but I just feel most comfortable in a dress- jeans are so uncomfortable to me and feel like so much clothing. I never understood how people found them to be ‘comfy clothes’.
Husband and I have been watching House of Cards lately- have you ever seen it?! You need to. A few of the episodes are directed by David Fincher who also directed Fight Club, Seven, The Social Network, Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and many other amazingly, well-made films. If you like the style of any of those, you’ll love House of Cards (plus I am a huge Kevin Spacey fan… he is the protagonist!) These photos have sort of a David Fincher feel because they’re dark, rustic, and have neutral/darker colors in them- after we shot this outfit, we both felt like watching a Fincher film!

  11. I love Gap Dresses for the reason that they can be mixed and matched like no other, and can be worn year round. The pink lipstick is perfect for the B&W outfit. I just started season 1 of House of Cards, its been getting me through Cardio sessions at the gym.
